Box One is the Letters to the Editor section of our local weekly Newspaper, The Zephyr. I have been writing to this paper for over three years now, primarily about the vaccine / autism issue. With growing season coming in the West Central Illinois region where I live, I felt compelled to speak about the onslaught on our farming families and our environment. I expect this to cause a huge influx of hate mail!

While my writings to Box One are, for the most part, regarding the distinct and unavoidable truth behind the causative role that vaccines play in the autism epidemic, I want to talk about some other players in the epidemic over the next couple of weeks. As we are all aware here in the Midwest, soon the tractors, tillers, planters and combines will be out on our country roads and fields in force. Many of the practices used today in modern farming are the culprits in the epidemics we are facing as a nation. While this is most certainly not going to make many in the community happy, I’m kinda used to it….so here it goes.

Our farmers, with the help and control of Monsanto and other bio engineering seed companies, are poisoning our communities, waterways, ground water, air and the foods now offered on our grocer’s shelves. We must do something about this. I am definitely not against farming, or farmers for that matter. I want to make this perfectly clear. While I am unashamedly against all vaccines, that is not the case here. My dad actually owns a lot of farmland in the area and unfortunately utilizes many of the practices that I am against. The farmers don’t know what they are doing. They, like the pediatricians vaccinating our children, are simply doing what the “experts” are telling them to do to increase their profits and yield all while being assured they are helping the environment. This is the farthest thing from the truth.

We have a new administration in Washington D.C., a Democratic administration. Democrats: the little guy’s party, fighting for the family farms and the blue collar worker. At least that’s what they would have you believe. While there is no doubt that Monsanto and the bio tech industry gained approval by and “owned” the First Bush administration, Clinton did horrible damage to the environment by allowing many policies to continue. W was absolutely bought and paid for by the bio tech industry and unfortunately, the only thing that seems to have changed with this administration is the color of the man’s skin sitting in the Oval Office.

The FDA, under Obama’s appointee, Margaret Hamburg, has approved the livestock drug Ractopamine (aka Paylean and Optaflexx) for use on pig and cattle farms. This drug was found to increase protein synthesis when researchers of the potential “asthma drug” found it to increase muscle mass in mice. Unfortunately it’s also found to be responsible for hyperactivity and muscle breakdown and has been banned in 160 nations due to the fact that it is found to be unsafe for human consumption.

Unlike other drugs used in livestock, Ractopamine does not require a “clearance period” to allow it to leach out of the pig or cattle prior to slaughter. In fact, this drug is most commonly used just weeks prior to slaughter. This drug is clearly marked “not for use in humans” but has found its way into our food supply anyway.

The BT corn and soy beans planted here in the Midwest does not stand for Bio Tech (as farmers believe) but rather, Bacillus Thuringiensis that is genetically modified into the cell of the plant to combat the European and Southwestern Corn borer. What these farmers aren’t aware of is that this genetic modification is dangerous to humans and livestock.  In fact, a recent study from the International Journal of Biological Sciences clearly shows increased organ failures in mice subjected to these three seeds: Mon 863, Mon 810 and NK603.These were the only seeds tested, all of them found to be dangerous.

I will be talking more about this in the coming weeks and I know that this is going to cause a huge stir in this community. I simply ask you to think about your community, your children and grandchildren and not just your bottom line or your conscience when you realize what is going on. Open your mind and get past the Monsanto salesmen. Truly look at the studies and facts, and then decide for yourselves. Until you are certain, choose organic foods free of genetic modification, herbicides and pesticides.

Dr. Robert Mendelsohn, MD, one of the greatest physicians of the twentieth century, is one of many doctors that suggested in the 1970s that we would be trading measles for cancers, diphtheria for asthma and other childhood diseases that were at that time being vaccinated against, for a slew of chronic, life shortening illnesses, as we proceed with childhood vaccines. He’s also quoted as saying; “The greatest threat of childhood diseases lies in the dangerous and ineffectual efforts made to prevent them through mass immunization. Much of what you have been led to believe about immunization simply isn’t true. If I were to follow my deeper convictions, I would urge you to reject all inoculations for your child.”

Australian researcher, Vira Scheibner, PhD states “It will be decades mopping-up after the disasters caused by childhood vaccination will be completed. All vaccinations should cease forthwith and all victims of their side effects should be appropriately compensated.”

This is precisely what we are seeing (at least those of us with the intelligence to pay attention). How many children do you know that are on asthma, Adhd, Add, bi-polar, antidepressant, juvenile diabetes and a slew of other chronic illness pharmaceuticals? I can definitely say that this is a pretty good business plan for Merck, Sanofi, Glaxxo, Pfizer and all of the other poison pushing drug companies: create your product (vaccines) that you don’t have to market because the government, health departments and schools push them for you. Your product is protected by the taxpayers through a pathetic Vaccine Injury Compensation Program so therefore you are free to create an unsafe product free from lawsuits, and then create a host of chronic illnesses that require yet more pharmaceutical interventions.  Brilliant and diabolical, all at the same time!

For those that believe still that the pharmaceutical companies and our government would never truly, intentionally harm our children or cover-up the science that could prove that they are actually being harmed: have you ever heard of the USC immunologist, John Martin, MD.? I am quite certain that you haven’t. This is primarily because Martin has extensively researched the stealth viruses found to contaminate our children’s vaccines. These nasty little viruses can invade the body without ever eliciting an immune response (inflammation), hence their name. According to Martin’s research, these retro/stealth viruses can lie dormant in the human body for years, until they decide to wreak havoc on the host body causing chronic disease, tissue and organ destruction.

Martin studied the SV40 virus, brought to you by the polio vaccine through infected monkey tissue (incidentally this is so named because it was the fortieth virus found to contaminate the polio vaccine and has been found in cancer cells of offspring subjected to the vaccine!). The SCMV (simian cytomegalovirus) was also brought to you from vaccines grown on monkey kidneys and brains, another charmer. Vaccines are now being grown on insect tissue…so get ready for a whole new group of interesting diseases!

So for all this horrible news that Martin studied and proved, why hasn’t this information become public knowledge? Much like Dr. Wakefield (recently in the news for his research suggesting that the MMR vaccine may play a causal role in the autism epidemic), Martin’s research was found to be too inflammatory. Once the university realized the implications of his research, they shut down his lab, pulled his funding and fired him! His repeated requests to the CDC and the FDA to look into his research have been ignored despite the fact that Martin has shown how stealth viruses cause autism, arthritis, encephalitis, seizures, lupus, MS and a number of neurological diseases. Sound familiar?

So for those of you that perhaps might still be “on the fence” regarding what to do about your children’s vaccines; please do your own research. Your child’s future is in your hands and I can assure you that your local pediatrician or health department official has no idea what these vaccines are capable of. I can also assure you that they will be there, in their office with that smug look on their face, prepared to write that prescription for Ritalin, Conserta, the asthma inhaler or that diabetes medication that ensures that the cycle of pharmaceutical profits never ceases.

Somewhere, Machiavelli is smiling from ear to ear.

I know countless parents that clearly identify with my situation. Doctors will, as a direct self preservation response, refuse to allow you to believe that these inoculations were the reason for your child’s problems. You will lose valuable time in your child’s recovery. It is best if you educate yourself and that you determine what is best for your child, thereby making the decision and the ultimate responsibility…yours and yours alone.

Allow me to give you a scenario that you will certainly run into if you are taking your child to the health department or pediatrician’s office in the next few weeks or months.  If you follow the CDC and AAP’s guidelines for the mandated vaccine schedule, you will soon have your child inoculated with the Rotateq vaccine for the Rotavirus. Prior to this relatively new vaccine, the Rotashield vaccine was utilized to inoculate your child for this virus that causes diarrhea. Rotashield was removed from the schedule after a number of deaths related to intussusceptions, a horrible way for an infant to die as their intestines twist and they begin to show signs of stomach pain, vomiting, diarrhea (yes the very same symptom that this vaccine is for), blood in their stool and sometimes death.

Doctors and health department officials will not tell you that on February 13^th 2007, the FDA issued a public warning about Rotateq and 28 cases of intussusceptions, hell they probably don’t even know! They will however, tell you that thousands of children die each year from the Rotavirus. This is true but a clever marketing tool because they don’t die here in the U.S. in those numbers but rather in third world countries where clean water and the means to rehydrate children are scarce or non-existent. A great way to market a vaccine or any other product! Unless of course it happens to be your child writhing in pain and requiring surgery or God forbid, dying as the consequence of a vaccine for a disease that has practically zero mortality rates here in the United States!

The other fact that every parent should begin considering: The Rotashield vaccine was withdrawn from the childhood vaccine schedule for fewer cases of intussusceptions and deaths than the new vaccine currently used! How could this possibly be, you ask? If you have ever read a mainstream newspaper story or seen a news program on local or national news regarding the link between vaccines and autism, the one face that you are sure to see over and over again, is that of Dr. Paul Offit from the Children’s Hospital of Philadelphia.

Now why this is, is beyond me, since he has never treated an autistic child and has never recovered an autistic child. So why would this play a role in what we are discussing today? Because Dr. Paul Offit is one of the patent holders on the Rotateq vaccine! To put it more bluntly: the CDC and the FDA care more about the reputation of this despicable man than they do about your child! It truly is that plain and simple. So the next time you consider vaccinating your child, do yourself a favor and err on the side of caution. Your child just might pay the price for an industry that is reluctant to cast a shadow on their vaccine champion.

Educate, Don’t Vaccinate!

While many will most certainly wonder how I can even imagine the anti-vaccine movement to be akin to that of these famous societal conflicts, I will go even further and state that this movement has elements that deserve even more attention than any of these others. Allow me to explain. While all of these struggles were deserving of the attention that they received, there is one striking difference: commercial profits and government influence did not make the African’s skin black, nor did it cause certain individuals to be born with vaginas or influence the sexual orientation of others. They have however, caused the damaging effects that we are witnessing in America and abroad today in the autism community.

Add to the reasons above, the fact that we are damaging our most vulnerable, the infants and children, and that this harm knows no sex, color, creed or orientation and you have a catastrophic situation that wouldn’t be believable in a screenplay and explains my stance on this issue. One in 58 boys in this country are affected by autism, one in 38 boys in Britain are now affected. The damage done destroys families, will devastate our schools as well as our economy and debilitate scores of our children. If this is not a reason to step up this fight, I can’t imagine what is.

Autism now affects more children than childhood cancer, diabetes, Cerebral Palsy and spina bifida combined yet research regarding this disability is far less than any of these. As hundreds of thousands of parents clearly state that their normally developing, happy children regressed into autistic-like symptoms directly after being subjected to these toxic vaccines, our governments and medical professionals continue to ignore us. The main stream media refuses to allow the same degree of attention to be paid to reputable research that sheds these vaccine practices in a negative light to that of those disputing what these parents are saying.

Pleading for justice from our government while hundreds of billions of dollars of pharmaceutical profits are at stake is akin to a gay rights activist kneeling at the altar of the 700 club begging to be recognized and respected. It just simply aint gonna happen. It is time to demand that we are heard. It is time to remove the politicians that allow the poisoning of our children to continue and replace them with truly caring individuals that are unafraid to stand up for our children. It’s time to call out the pharmaceutical industry for causing this medical holocaust. And it’s definitely the time to dismantle certain segments of the medical establishment for ignoring and in some instances being culpable in, this epidemic.

It’s not time to take our ball and go home. We’re going to change the rules of the game. To allow justice and truth to prevail despite the vast amount of power and corrupt influence that is all too apparent in government and industry today. In recognition of the upcoming Super Bowl: power on the front line simply requires a passing game that these giants can’t compete with. We will no longer play the victims because we fear how society will treat us. We will fight for our children, we will win, and those that have covered this up for so long will be brought to justice.

As with these other noble causes, this is not a civil rights issue, nor a gay or equal rights issue…this is a human rights issue. We must prevail. The alternative is a not an option.

This is a quote from a friend of mine; Louise Kuo Habakus. She is the founder of Life Health Choices, an organization devoted to informed choice advocacy and a major player in the New Jersey vaccine choice debate. While transcending political party affiliation, her organization was instrumental in Governor-elect Chris Christie’s recent win in New Jersey. She is the mother of two vaccine injured children, a former senior corporate executive of one of the world’s largest investment management firms, and received her graduate and under graduate degrees from Stanford University.

She is another in a long line of intelligent, highly thought of professionals that feel the same way that I do: vaccines cause more damage than they prevent and there desperately needs to be transparency and honesty when informing parents on the choices they make regarding vaccines and their children.

On the last day of 2009, a Japanese study was published regarding vaccines and auto immune diseases. The study, entitled Self-Organized Criticality Theory of Autoimmunity was written by Tsumiyama et al from Kobe University. The conclusions of the study are: “Systemic autoimmunity appears to be the inevitable consequence of over-stimulating the host’s immune ‘system’ by repeated immunization with antigen, to the levels that surpass system’s self-organized criticality.”

In layman’s terms, this means that vaccines appear to be the cause of the astronomical rise in autoimmune diseases in our citizens. When billions of dollars are at stake, is it that difficult to believe that our governments, medical organizations and pharmaceutical companies would do everything in their power to keep this information from the people? When you also consider that we have heard for decades that vaccines are essential to the public health, would it not also be possible that doctors and mainstream health organizations would work especially hard to retain their credibility under such an onslaught? Could you imagine the American Academy of Pediatrics all of the sudden, stating that it turns out they were wrong all along?”ummmm..Sorry…our bad. Turns out we’ve been destroying your children this whole time….sorry again.” Not going to happen.

Wake up my friends. This is something that will destroy your children’s lives. How many children do you know that are on Ritalin, Concerta or Risperodal? One in five boys in the state of Illinois has a learning or developmental disability. Shouldn’t this concern us all? Schools are overrun with these children. Marriages are falling apart. Families are becoming bankrupt and the only upside seems to be the profit margins of the companies that are causing this problem with their vaccines and making a fortune selling you the drugs to chemically destroy your children more.

Educate, Don’t Vaccinate!

To the moms, dads and siblings that have to deal with idiots in the stores and other public venues that simply give you that “look” when your child or sister or brother can’t deal with the over stimulation of public places and throws a temper tantrum, I wish you peace. To the moms and dads out there that are working, researcher and paying out of pocket for health care for your child that your insurance company doesn’t cover, I wish you success and understanding. To the grandparents and other family members and friends that are supporting, either financially or otherwise, the families trying to recover their children, thank you, you don’t know how important this is for us to have your support.

To the doctors, therapists, nurses, educators and health department employees that turn a blind eye and deaf ear to this epidemic, I can only hope that someday, you are touched by this devastating disorder. As the numbers rise to more than 1% of the population, there is a far better chance that you will somehow be affected, be that with your child, grandchild or other family member. Someday, as you perpetuate this epidemic through your refusal to acknowledge the environmental poisons that you advocate for, someone you know will have a perfectly developing infant that is destroyed by these vaccines.

Someday, a child that you love in some capacity will lose all speech, become seriously ill and will be unable to tell you what or where it hurts. Perhaps they will be 11 years old and still in diapers. They will be eating foods that cause more problems. All of this will be precisely because people like you have not faced reality. Doctors and other public health officials have denied the evidence that vaccine injured autistic children can get better through diet, bio medical treatment and natural remedies. Someday you will wish you had paid attention and done your own research. I know that wishing something like this on you may not hold to the “Christmas Spirit” but as more people in your field become directly affected, things will have to change and this will be beneficial to all of the children already affected. Soon this epidemic will not be able to be ignored any longer.

Just this Monday, Merck Pharmaceuticals announced that Dr. Julie Gerberding will be the new president of the Vaccine division at Merck. This is the very same woman that, as the Director of the CDC, during her tenure from 2002 -2009, told the press and the medical establishment that there was no reason to further investigate vaccines in their supposed causal role in autism. Now, just one year and five days after resigning, she will now once again do what she did in her tenure as one of America’s chief medical officials: push the poisonous vaccines on an unwitting public. These are the people that you have listened to all this time. Stop. Think for yourselves. Do the research on your own rather than continuing to listen to those that are obviously conflicted. This revolving door policy between government and industry should concern you, it is all too common. This hopefully will be the impetus to research this issue before you become directly affected. Become the champion for these children and those to come.

Think about the children this holiday season, the ones that don’t have their own voices. The voices stolen from them by industry, government and the mainstream medical establishment that you have helped perpetuate.

With reporters Trine Tsoudaris and Patricia Callahan’s most recent tripe regarding “alternative” treatments for autism, the Chicago tribune has once again alienated a large segment of the world’s population and affirms to this parent, another reason to believe that this paper deserves its financial woes. With the most recent numbers from the CDC stating that 1-91 eight year old children in the U.S. are ending up with an autism diagnosis, and numbers in England and other nations greater than this, Sunday and Monday’s recent articles flies in the face of reason. The Tribune astonishingly decides to deride and belittle the parents of children afflicted with this mysterious disorder for researching and trying “alternative” treatment methods as they state in these most recent articles that “studies have found that up to three-quarters of families with children with autism try at least some alternative treatments.”

One in ninety one children afflicted. Add to this the parents, grandparents, nieces, nephew, aunts, uncles, cousins and other family members and friends that have seen beneficial gains from these treatments and you can add the numbers of those offended by these articles up for yourselves. I am one of those that are not only deeply offended by these articles, but also immensely troubled by what this type of reporting represents: a mainstream media that seems to care far more for the pharmaceutical and medical “industry” than it does for its readers.

I have been a member of this “alternative treatment” community (one which also seems to frequently get the moniker; the anti-vaccine community) for a number of years and have not only seen the huge benefits that my own son has gained by taking the more nontraditional route, but have also witnessed these beneficial results from the families of other children that have improved as a result of these treatments. Hundreds of thousands, if not millions of people, on this great planet are most assuredly deeply offended by what the Chicago Tribune has allowed to be printed. I certainly hope that the majority of these people in the Chicago area and readers elsewhere take their complaints to the advertisers in this sorry excuse for a newspaper and thereby further compound their financial troubles. After all, if the media, the one’s that used to be known as “the defenders of our democracy” continue to sell the citizenry out, we must take action.

In this past Sunday’s edition, the Chicago tribune article entitled; Autism treatments: risky alternative therapies have little basis in science, these reporters get completely lost as they whore themselves to the industry insiders of the mainstream medical establishment. Seemingly all of the medical professionals that these two pathetic reporters used to make their obviously predetermined case seem valid stated that there was no known cause for autism spectrum disorders.  They all also seem to know what doesn’t work to treat these children. This is astounding to say the least. Just as Dr. Paul Offit, a self proclaimed and media revered “autism expert” that has never treated a child with autism claims that while not knowing what causes autism, he certainly knows that vaccines do not play a role, these other physicians and scientists are showing their true concerns, and it most certainly isn’t the child with autism.

Ms. Tsoudaris and Ms. Callahan state that “after reviewing thousands of pages of court documents and scientific studies and interviewing top researchers in the field, the Tribune found that many of these treatments amount to uncontrolled experiments on vulnerable children.” I have one question for these idiot reporters: couldn’t the very same thing be said about the current vaccine protocol? While there are countless studies as well as thousands of anecdotal statements from parents, showing clearly that autistic children are recovering or at the least being aided by these “alternative” therapies, there is not one documented study that shows the long term adverse affects of hyper stimulating our infant’s immune systems!  In fact, I find it rather amusing (not in a funny ha ha sort of way) that one of these “top researchers” that they spoke with and quoted, Dr. Steven Goodman of the Johns Hopkins Berman Institute of Bioethics stated “Few treatments are benign. Even an effective therapy is rarely harmless and sometimes that harm is worse than the disease.” Thanks doc, I think I’ll use that quote the next time I write an article regarding our government’s massive childhood experiment commonly referred to as our nation’s vaccine protocol!

While attacking hyperbaric oxygen therapy, chelation, supplements, vitamins and a slew of other known beneficial treatments throughout the autism community, these ridiculous excuses for reporters also attack our children and their futures. How in the world can these two idiots justify their actions when at least one of them has personally met recovered children? Knowing Autism One’s Director, Teri Arranga personally, I can tell you that there is no way that these reporters scoured over the references that she sent them. As to the claim that Tsoudaris and Callahan reviewed “thousands of pages of court documents” did they miss the Bailey Banks case in an overtly determined sort of way? Did they miss the hundreds of other Vaccine Court cases that the government has conceded? Was the Hannah Poling case “old news” and off their radar, or did they intentionally not report this court case? I would most assuredly vote for the latter since it is already obvious that these cases have not been represented in the mainstream media properly to date.

Also from the Chicago tribune article: “Many parents who try alternative therapies cite an analogy popularized by a luminary of the movement, a physician who wrote a book on recovering children from autism. They say they feel as if their child has jumped off a pier. Science hasn’t proved that throwing them a life preserver will save the child, but they have a duty to try, right? Critics say that’s the wrong way to think. ‘How do they know if that life preserver is made of cork or lead?’ That is the real issue.”  I think that most of us feel as if our children have been thrown from a pier, not jumped, and traditional science is offering up the “lead life preserver” because they can’t come to terms with the very fact that they have caused this epidemic. Trust me when I say this, parents of autistic children know the difference between Styrofoam and lead and we have the metals tests to prove it!

As these idiot reporters continue to degrade the parents of autistic children that obviously have far more knowledge than the “experts” which they have conferred, they make this idiotic statement concerning mercury in the vaccines: Toxicologists and experts on vaccines said studies show that if a vaccine contains mercury, the metal is quickly excreted.” Really? The only thing that these reporters are doing here is misleading the general population and hastening more autism diagnoses because the large segment of the autism parents treating alternatively already know that this is most definitely not the case. These new diagnoses will of course be highly beneficial to the pharmaceutical industry, to which these reporters are obviously quite familiar, since the mainstream scientist’s only course of autism treatment is Abilify or Risperidal, two psychoactive drugs with possible detrimental consequences!

They obviously received this tidbit of ignorance from Dr. Fombonne who is also quoted in the story stating: “There is no evidence for (the treatments’) efficacy, no evidence for the reason for them to work. There are no published studies which would suggest that (they) would change the course of autism.”  Yet alas, they are doc! It is really common knowledge among us seriously misled and wanting moms and dads, that ethyl mercury, (the kind found in vaccines) does not leave the body quickly. This was an incredibly flawed study by Fombonne that assumed that ethyl mercury left the body faster than methyl mercury (the kind found in fish etc.) because they hadn’t found it in the blood. They made the decision to state that this is because it most probably left the body, yet show no proof whatsoever that this was in fact the case. So much for science…

While this may seem like a personal attack on these moronic reporters and the thankfully financially wrecked Chicago Tribune, be assured that it is most certainly just that! I am a pissed off autism dad that is sick and tired of the postulating prostitutes that do nothing but attack those that are helping our children as “traditional” scientists and medical practitioners sit on their thumbs and continue to look for more idiot reporters to further proclaim their innocence regarding this autism epidemic that they have caused!

As the prostitution of our mainstream media continues, there will be warrior parents like me that will continue to call these idiots on their lies. We will use the internet to destroy these bastions of deceit that we once knew as defenders of freedom. The mainstream media is in its last throes as a meaningful source of information and Tsoudaris and Callahan, with their Chicago tribune article, are hastening its demise.

On the first day of the conference, doctors from all over the country attended a physicians training seminar where they were informed of the actual medical proof that clearly shows that our children can be helped and in some cases recovered from autism, despite what the mainstream medical profession will tell them. On Saturday, the first of two days attended by parents, a single individual from a group that calls themselves The Association for Science and Reason, was handing a pamphlet out to the parents attending the conference.

I approached this gentleman and received one of these pamphlets which I immediately read and then returned to his spot outside of the main conference hall. I had highlighted all of the lies in the small handout and gave it back to him. I asked him if he had ever attended one of these types of conferences and he quickly replied that he hadn’t. I then asked him why he was so adamantly opposed to what was going on here if he didn’t know what it was and why his group and many in medicine were opposed to something that had been proven to help children. To these questions, he had no answers. I then handed him a card and told him that if his group had a doctor willing to debate this issue in a public forum, I would be more than willing to accommodate them. He took my card and promised he would find a doctor willing to do this. I won’t be holding my breath.

The one thing that really got my attention during my three days in Toronto was speaking with an Ontario Health Department Official at the conference. I will be very careful not to mention the name, gender or position of this person because it would be far too easy for others to determine who this official is and this letter to the editor of the Zephyr also gets published on my website as well and is monitored closely by individuals that would love to be privy to such information.  This person was there at the conference and was not only a health official but was affiliated with the university and trained in both epidemiology and immunology.

While publically, this person was not allowed to speak the beliefs they held, while we were talking I asked the question I ask of all doctors and public health officials: Do you personally think vaccines are part of the causative equation in the autism epidemic? This health official, speaking candidly and most definitely making it very clear that this was a personal opinion and were not speaking from their professional position, stated emphatically…”YES…without a doubt.” This person also stated that the government and the medical professional all knew this as well but were not to state this publically.

While I know that many will not consider this to be anything but a story from a delusional activist, this is something I have witnessed many times. I find it hard to believe that anyone that truly looks into this issue with an open mind could come to any other conclusion.  I guess we’ll just have to continue expecting doctors to believe and know the truth, yet continue to poison our children so as not to “rock the boat”. This is sad, to say the least, but definitely criminal in my opinion. Someday, perhaps a conscience will come along with a medical degree.

Here is another example of how our government, Democrats and Republicans alike, are stealing our freedoms. Yesterday the House did not have enough votes to pass HR 2749. So they brought it up for a vote again today (I’m sure after some major payoffs) and loe and behold, it passed! If the Senate passes this Bill, there’s no doubt that our communist piece of crap president will sign this! We have to stop them. Go to our FDA page for a list of the commie bastards that voted yea on this Bill. My congressman, Rep. Phil Hare D IL. , also voted yea. I will personally be working my ass off to make sure that this idiot does not get re elected!

House Passes HR 2749

It took two tries but on the second attempt Congress railroaded HR 2749, also known as the Food Safety Enhancement Act, down the throats of the American people. The Bill still needs to get passed in the Senate and signed by the President to take effect, but America is creeping ever closer to a Communist dictatorship where virtually every form of food production is monitored, regulated and controlled at all levels by the federal government under the leadership of a new Food Safety Czar.

Many mainstream news stories are hailing the passage of this Bill in the House as a great step in the right direction to help America have better food safety standards. In reality, after close examination of the contents, you will quickly realize that what is being reported in the mainstream news is completely contradictory to what the Bill actually states. The language reads in such a way that it will require every entity, whether it be a business, church organization, homeless shelter, or home gardener to register annually with a new federal food bureau. Many may see that as a good thing. However, those who believe in freedom and less government intrusion into their everyday lives will see this as a further infringement upon our Constitutional rights.

For example, if you are a church group and you provide food to the homeless or if your church has decided to take some steps to prepare for a possible calamity (i.e swine flu pandemic, natural disaster, economic collapse, terrorism, etc.) by stocking up on storable food, that church will now be required to register with the government annually and meet a whole bunch of new criteria in order to continue to do that. In addition to all of the new red tape, it effectively gives the government complete authority over every facet of food whether it be how it is grown to how it is processed, packaged, shipped, and stored. This is all in the name of protecting public health.

For everyone in the nutritional supplement industry, this Bill should be a serious concern to you. Since dietary supplements are classified as foods this Bill will impact every facet of the manufacturing, processing, shipping and storing of all of these items as well. Similar to the way Congress has operated within the past year, this Bill was rushed through to passage using fear with no public input or comments and done just one day before summer recess.

Our only hope at this time is to wage opposition to a lot of the language in this Bill in the Senate before they shove it down our throats as well. HR 2749 will most likely cripple small businesses and set up a system whereby the only companies that will be able to meet all the criteria will be medium to large size companies with the funds and staff in place to comply.

If the federal government is really concerned about stimulating the economy the last thing they need to be doing is bogging down small businesses with a host of new regulations that will force them out or increase all of their costs. Mind you that all of the food related problems that have occurred that have been used as the excuse to change the laws have dealt with meat production from factory farm operations or large processing operations where the FDA and USDA already have full authority under current law to be more involved and ensure quality products.
